Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode key attribute
Published Nov 21, 2025 · Updated Nov 21, 2025
Stored XSS in Padlet Shortcode 1.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through a wallwisher shortcode. The shortcode handler places the user-controlled key attribute into generated page output without adequate sanitization or output escaping, so the payload persists with the post. Contributor-level access is required, and the script executes in visitors' browsers when they open the affected page, enabling browser-context data access or content changes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
