CVE-2025-12641Network attack vector

Unauthenticated administrator demotion via shared nonce

Published Jan 16, 2026 · Updated Jan 16, 2026

Authorization bypass in Awesome Support 6.3.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to demote WordPress administrators via a public form. The wpas_do_mr_activate_user function accepts a user-controlled user_id and changes that account's role without checking the caller's capability, while privileged actions reuse the registration nonce namespace. A registration or submit-ticket page must expose a valid nonce; unauthenticated use can strip administrators of privileged access and disrupt site management.
