CVE-2025-12627

Continued impersonation via renewable refresh tokens

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Insufficient session expiration in WSO2 Identity Server 7.0.0 and 7.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to prolong impersonation. The user impersonation flow leaves a refresh token that the OAuth refresh-token grant accepts to mint replacement access tokens. Access to an impersonated session token is required, and renewed tokens preserve the ability to act as the user while obscuring log attribution.
