Subscriber-level stored script injection via unchecked AJAX handlers
Published Nov 8, 2025 · Updated Nov 8, 2025
Missing authorization in Neofix Simple Downloads List 1.4.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject stored web scripts. The wp_ajax_neofix_sdl_edit AJAX handler and other plugin handlers accept download and settings changes without checking the caller's WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to alter plugin settings or downloads; injected scripts execute when affected content is viewed.
