cPanel account takeover via web-exposed API credentials
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025
Sensitive information exposure in TNC Toolbox: Web Performance 1.4.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to read cPanel API credentials. Tnc_Wp_Toolbox_Settings::save_settings writes the hostname, username, and API key to files under the web-accessible wp-content directory without access controls. No authentication is required to retrieve the files; exposed credentials grant cPanel API access that supports file upload and code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
