Authenticated post-type changes via missing ownership check
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 18, 2025
Authorization bypass in Post Type Switcher 4.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to change other users' post types. The post-save path accepts a user-controlled post identifier and updates its post_type without checking whether the current user can edit that post. Author-level access is sufficient to alter administrator-owned posts or pages, disrupting navigation and stored site structure.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
