CVE-2025-12489Public exploit

Local privilege escalation via shell-interpolated OAuth URL

Published Nov 6, 2025 · Updated Nov 6, 2025

Command injection in Brent Midwood Evernote MCP Server 2.1.0 allows local users to execute code as the service account. The openBrowser function passes an OAuth authorization URL containing an untrusted oauth_token to child_process.exec through a shell-interpolated command string. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution on the host and yields arbitrary command execution with the Node.js service account's privileges.
