Unauthenticated code execution via mutable trust setting
Published Nov 6, 2025 · Updated Nov 6, 2025
Remote code execution in oobabooga text-generation-webui 2.5 allows remote attackers to run code through the unauthenticated join endpoint. The join handler accepts attacker-controlled trust_remote_code state that the Transformers model and tokenizer loaders pass to from_pretrained. A reachable unauthenticated interface and control of the model input are required; resulting code runs as the service account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
