CVE-2025-1243

Information disclosure via skipped update response transformation

Published Feb 12, 2025 · Updated Feb 12, 2025

Information disclosure in Temporal API Go before 1.44.1 allows local users to expose untransformed update-response data through a gRPC proxy. NewPayloadVisitorInterceptor omits update.Response from the proxy generator's payload walk, so Data Converter transformations such as encryption never reach that field. The flaw requires UpdateWorkflowExecution APIs and a proxy using the affected library; transport encryption remains intact, and other fields, the Data Converter server, and Temporal Cloud are unaffected.
