IoT fleet control via exposed administrative credentials
Published Feb 25, 2026 · Updated Feb 25, 2026
Hard-coded credentials in Gardyn Home Kit components before their fixed releases allow remote attackers to administer the Gardyn IoT Hub. An unauthenticated provisioning API returned the iothubowner connection string, while the React Native bundle and firmware files under /usr/local/etc/gardyn/ embedded the same secret. No account or user interaction is required; possession of the shared key permits device enumeration, direct-method invocation, device-twin changes, and device registration changes.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
