System interruption via symlink-following uninstaller deletion
Published Nov 7, 2025 · Updated Nov 7, 2025
Link following in affected Revenera InstallShield releases allows local users to cause a service interrupt during Suite uninstallation. The Suite uninstaller removes a user-writable configuration directory after resolving an attacker-controlled symbolic link, causing deletion to follow the link to an unintended target. Exploitation requires local users to prepare the link and an administrator to run the affected uninstall path; successful abuse deletes unintended files and can interrupt the system.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
