Authenticated code execution via unrestricted file upload
Published Nov 8, 2025 · Updated Nov 8, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in Alex Reservations: Smart Restaurant Booking 2.2.3 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code. The upload action at /wp-json/srr/v1/app/upload/file copies the submitted file into a web-accessible uploads directory after sanitizing only its name, without validating its extension or MIME type. Administrator-level access is required; a PHP payload then runs with the WordPress server process's privileges.
