CVE-2025-12380Public exploit

Sandbox escape via stale WebGPU shared-memory slices

Published Oct 28, 2025 · Updated Oct 28, 2025

Use-after-free in Firefox 142 through 144.0.1 allows attackers controlling a child process to escape its sandbox through WebGPU IPC. WebGPUParent::RecvMessages moves a mapping into mSharedMemoryMap but leaves a correlated slice usable after buffer destruction unmaps its storage. Exploitation requires control of a sandboxed child process; a forged queue write dereferences the stale slice in the GPU or browser process.
