Stored XSS via unvalidated Modern Heading tags
Published Jan 10, 2026 · Updated Jan 10, 2026
Stored XSS in Averta Phlox Core Elements 2.17.13 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through Modern Heading tags. The ModernHeading render method uses the title_tag and title_tag_secondary settings directly as HTML element names without enforcing its configured allowlist. Contributor-level access to edit Elementor content is sufficient, and the stored script executes in a visitor's browser when the crafted page is viewed.
