Subscriber-level settings modification via unchecked AJAX authorization
Published Nov 18, 2025 · Updated Nov 18, 2025
Missing authorization in The Permalinks Cascade 2.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to change plugin settings through AJAX. The handleTPCAdminAjaxRequest function processes administrative action requests without checking whether the caller is authorized to change plugin options. Subscriber-level access is sufficient to enable or disable automatic pinging and modify page-exclusion settings, with no reported confidentiality or availability impact.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
