Authenticated feature changes via unchecked AJAX authorization
Published Nov 1, 2025 · Updated Nov 1, 2025
Missing authorization in SiteSEO – SEO Simplified 1.3.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter plugin feature states. The Ajax::save_toggle_state handler accepts a nonce-protected AJAX action and toggle value, then updates the siteseo_toggle option without checking manage_options. Author-level access and a valid plugin nonce are required; exploitation changes which SiteSEO features are enabled without granting broader administrative access.
