CVE-2025-12360Network attack vector

Authenticated API quota consumption via unchecked AJAX handler

Published Nov 6, 2025 · Updated Nov 6, 2025

Improper authorization in Better Find and Replace 1.7.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to consume configured OpenAI API quota. The rtafar_ajax() handler accepts Subscriber-level AJAX requests without a capability check and sends requests through the site's configured OpenAI API key. A WordPress account with Subscriber access and a configured OpenAI key is required; successful use consumes quota and can incur charges.
