Man-in-the-middle attacks via spoofed SLAC measurements

Endpoint-binding weakness in ISO 15118-2 SLAC allows physically proximate attackers to intercept EV-to-charger communications. The SLAC pairing process accepts spoofed signal-attenuation measurements without reliably binding the electric vehicle to the intended charger, enabling an attacker to interpose between both endpoints. The attack requires close physical proximity and electromagnetic induction, and the resulting position permits disclosure, modification, or interruption of charging communications; CISA states that remote exploitation is not possible.
