Subscriber-level status modification via unchecked AJAX action
Published Feb 18, 2026 · Updated Feb 18, 2026
Missing authorization in Tickera – Sell Tickets & Manage Events 3.5.6.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter event statuses. The wp_ajax_change_ticket_status AJAX handler verifies a nonce and request fields but does not check the caller's capability before applying the supplied status to an event or post. Subscriber-level access and a valid Tickera nonce are sufficient, and successful requests can hide events or alter ticket availability without granting code execution or broader administrative control.
