CVE-2025-12347Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated file overwrite via user-controlled editor path

Published Oct 28, 2025 · Updated Oct 28, 2025

Arbitrary file overwrite in MaxSite CMS 109 allows remote authenticated users to replace existing default-template files via crafted POST data. The save-file-ajax.php handler Base64-decodes file_path and passes attacker-controlled content to file_put_contents after a path check that still permits overwriting existing files under application/maxsite/templates/default. Backend authentication is required, and the demonstrated consequence is replacement of an existing PHP template file rather than creation of an arbitrary new path.
