Authenticated command execution via unvalidated archive path
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
OS command injection in the D-Link DAP-2695 2.00RC13 firmware update handler allows remote authenticated users to execute commands. The httpd function sub_4174B0 inserts the upload_captival_tar destination into an rm command with sprintf and passes it to system without validation. Administrative access to the firmware update path is required, and injected shell metacharacters can execute commands or interrupt the appliance.
