Service crash via unbounded sprintf
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
Buffer overflow in Tenda CH22 firmware 1.0.0.1 allows remote attackers to crash its web server using an oversized page parameter. The fromSafeMacFilter function passes the user-controlled value to sprintf, which writes it into a fixed 256-byte buffer without a length bound. The published proof of concept states that no authentication is required, although the CNA's CVSS vectors assign low privileges; arbitrary code execution remains unverified.
