Authenticated arbitrary file upload via unchecked image filename
Published Oct 27, 2025 · Updated Oct 27, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in User-Management-PHP-MYSQL at fedcf58797bf2791591606f7b61fdad99ad8bff1 allows remote authenticated users to write files. The admin/edit-user.php handler lowercases the supplied name and passes the temporary upload to move_uploaded_file in ../images/ without checking its extension, MIME type, or content. An authenticated administrator must submit the form; a dangerous uploaded file can then be stored under an attacker-chosen name in the web content tree.
