CVE-2025-12175Network attack vector

Subscriber-level draft event disclosure via unchecked AJAX handler

Published Oct 31, 2025 · Updated Oct 31, 2025

Missing authorization in The Events Calendar 6.15.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read draft event titles and QR codes. The tec_qr_code_modal AJAX handler accepted a post_id after checking only a nonce, then loaded the post and rendered its title while generating QR images without verifying edit_post capability. Subscriber-level access and a valid AJAX nonce are required, and the impact is limited to disclosure and QR-code generation for otherwise inaccessible draft events.
