CVE-2025-12100

Local privilege escalation via unset custom-path ACLs

Published Oct 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025

Incorrect permissions in MongoDB BI Connector ODBC Driver 1.0.0 through 1.4.6 allow local users to elevate privileges on Windows. The MSI installer can leave access-control lists unset when a custom installation directory is chosen, giving insufficiently restricted access to installed driver files. Exploitation requires existing low-privileged local access and the nondefault custom-path installation condition, after which unauthorized file changes can affect a higher-privileged execution context.
