Subscriber-level attachment metadata modification via missing capability check
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Missing authorization in ACF Photo Gallery Field 3.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter arbitrary media metadata. The acf_photo_gallery_edit_save function writes supplied titles, captions, and custom fields for a selected attachment without checking the caller's capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the consequence is limited to modification of attachment metadata rather than file contents.
