CVE-2025-12060Public exploitNetwork attack vectorHinoki check available

Arbitrary file write via symlink traversal

Published Oct 30, 2025 · Updated Oct 30, 2025

Path traversal in Keras 3.0.0 through 3.11.3 allows remote attackers to write arbitrary files via a crafted tar archive. The extract_archive function passes filtered tar members to tarfile.extractall without the data filter, so PATH_MAX symlink resolution bypasses filter_safe_paths and escapes the extraction directory. Exploitation requires a consuming application to call keras.utils.get_file with extraction enabled on the attacker-controlled archive, and writes occur with that process's filesystem permissions.
