CVE-2025-12056

Device reboot via unhandled Modbus data address

Published Nov 19, 2025 · Updated Nov 19, 2025

Out-of-bounds read in Shelly Pro 3EM 1.4.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to reboot the meter via a crafted Modbus request. The Modbus request handler accesses an illegal data address and fails to return the standard protocol error, causing the device to restart. Unauthenticated access from an adjacent network is sufficient, and the resulting denial of service interrupts energy monitoring until the device reboots.
