CVE-2025-12050

Local code execution via unsafe direct registry read

Published Jan 14, 2026 · Updated Jan 14, 2026

Out-of-bounds write in Insyde Software InsydeH2O Tools allows local users to execute arbitrary code through a crafted registry value. H2OFFT32.sys reads attacker-controlled registry data with RTL_QUERY_REGISTRY_DIRECT without preventing the data from overflowing its destination buffer. Low-privileged local access is required, and successful exploitation can execute arbitrary code during a BIOS update without user interaction.
