Unauthenticated settings changes via capability-free AJAX handler
Published Nov 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 25, 2025
Missing authorization in Autochat Automatic Conversation 1.1.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to change the configured client ID. The wp_ajax_nopriv_auycht_saveCid AJAX handler accepts unauthenticated requests and updates the client ID without a capability check. Any network client that can reach WordPress AJAX can connect or disconnect that identifier, altering the plugin's external service configuration.
