Stored XSS via unsanitized slider title
Published Mar 24, 2025 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Stored XSS in MetaSlider Slideshow before 3.95.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through a crafted slider title. The slider-title setting accepts an HTML event handler and renders the saved value on a page containing the slider without sanitizing or escaping it. Editor-level privileges suffice even when WordPress denies unfiltered_html, and a visitor must view the affected slider for the script to run.
