Subscriber-level page modification via unchecked editor functions
Published Feb 19, 2026 · Updated Feb 19, 2026
Missing authorization in Mesmerize Companion 1.6.158 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to modify arbitrary page settings. The openPageInCustomizer and openPageInDefaultEditor functions process page-targeted requests without checking caller capabilities, then rewrite page content and template or editor metadata. Subscriber-level access is sufficient when the Mesmerize theme is active; the reported impact is limited to page content and settings modification.
