Stored script execution via unescaped widget settings
Published Nov 25, 2025 · Updated Nov 25, 2025
Stored XSS in YouTube Subscribe 3.0.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through widget settings. The widget shortcode renders the saved title and channel ID from admin settings into page output without adequate sanitization or escaping. Administrator-level access is required, and the flaw is reachable only on multisite installations or sites where unfiltered_html is disabled; stored scripts run when a user loads the affected page.
