Authenticated cache-exclusion modification via unchecked AJAX action
Published Oct 24, 2025 · Updated Oct 24, 2025
Missing authorization in GetClouder NGINX Cache Optimizer 1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to alter cache exclusions. The nginxcacheoptimizer-blacklist-update AJAX action writes submitted URLs to the Exclude URLs From Dynamic Caching setting without checking the caller's WordPress capability. Subscriber-level access is sufficient, and the demonstrated consequence is unauthorized cache-configuration modification.
