Stored XSS via unescaped directory-listing filenames
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Stored XSS in Eclipse Foundation Vert.x 4.0.0 through 4.5.21 and 5.0.0 through 5.0.4 allows attackers to execute script via filenames. StaticHandlerImpl.sendDirectoryListing inserts file and directory names into link href, title, and body contexts without HTML escaping. Directory listing must be enabled, the attacker must control a name in the served path, and the script executes when the listing is viewed.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
