License status modification via insufficient capability checks
Published Oct 25, 2025 · Updated Oct 25, 2025
Incorrect authorization in Roxnor ShopEngine 4.8.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to change plugin license status. The post_activate() and post_deactive() handlers process license activation and deactivation requests without an adequate capability check. Editor-level access or higher is required, and the bounded consequence is activation or deactivation of the ShopEngine license rather than broader site control.
