Arbitrary file creation via unsanitized Version path
Published Oct 16, 2025 · Updated Oct 16, 2025
Path traversal in Smidge 4.5.0 and 4.5.1 allows remote authenticated users to create files through the Bundle Handler. The handler uses the request's Version value as the cache directory path without confining it beneath Smidge/Cache, so absolute or traversing paths redirect cached output. A reachable configured bundle endpoint and filesystem write permission are required; repeated unique versions can exhaust disk space, while error differences can enumerate directories.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
