Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Nov 11, 2025 · Updated Nov 11, 2025
Stored XSS in the bootstrap_tab shortcode in WP Bootstrap Tabs 1.0.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The bootstrap_tab handler copies user-supplied shortcode attributes into generated tab markup without sanitization or context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store payloads that execute in visitors' browsers when an injected page is viewed.
