Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Stored XSS in the roboshot shortcode in RoboCasters WP-Thumbnail 1.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The shortcode handler accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient sanitization and emits them into page output without context-appropriate escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient; the stored script executes in the browser whenever a visitor opens the affected page, allowing page-context data access or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
