Contributor-level stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attribute
Published Oct 22, 2025 · Updated Oct 22, 2025
Stored XSS in Jobair JB News Ticker 1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts through the jbticker shortcode. The jbticker shortcode handler in jb-plugin-hook.php places the attacker-controlled id attribute into generated page markup without sanitizing the input or escaping the output. Contributor-level access is sufficient to store the payload in a page, and the script executes in the browser of anyone who visits that page.
