User-assisted code execution via unescaped cURL command

Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025

Improper output escaping in Mozilla Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird allows attackers to execute code through copied cURL commands. The Copy as cURL formatter fails to escape attacker-controlled request content for Windows command syntax, placing that content into its generated command. Exploitation requires a Windows user to select the feature and execute the copied command, which runs unexpected code with that user's privileges.
