Sandbox escape via manipulated WebGL textures
Published Oct 14, 2025 · Updated Oct 14, 2025
Memory corruption in Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird allows attackers to escape a compromised web process into a privileged process. Invalid checks on manipulated WebGL textures permit out-of-bounds reads and writes in the more privileged process. Exploitation requires prior control of a sandboxed web process; in Thunderbird, ordinary email reading does not expose the flaw because scripting is disabled.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
Public exploit references
