Cache poisoning via untrusted geocode response caching

Published Oct 18, 2025 · Updated Oct 18, 2025

Cache poisoning in WP Go Maps 9.0.48 and earlier allows remote attackers to corrupt stored location-search results through an AJAX request. The unauthenticated wpgmza_store_nominatim_cache handler passes attacker-supplied query and response values directly to NominatimGeocodeCache::set instead of fetching authoritative geocoding data server-side. A crafted entry persists in the plugin cache and supplies false coordinates and metadata to later map lookups, affecting integrity without reported disclosure or service interruption.
