Unauthenticated file deletion via unchecked download handler
Published Oct 15, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Missing authorization in Zip Attachments 1.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to delete arbitrary files in the current upload directory. The download.php handler builds a path from a requested filename in wp_upload_dir and deletes it without checking authorization or capabilities. No WordPress account or user interaction is required, but deletion is limited to files in the current wp_upload_dir directory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
