Authenticated code execution via image validation bypass
Published Feb 11, 2025 · Updated Feb 18, 2025
Unrestricted file upload in SourceCodester Food Menu Manager 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP code via update.php. The endpoint checks the image field only with getimagesize, so PHP content prefixed with a valid GIF signature passes validation. Low-privileged menu-update access is sufficient to place the payload in a web-accessible uploads directory and execute it on the server.
