CVE-2025-11650Public exploit

Root password recovery via DES-hashed shadow entry

Published Oct 12, 2025 · Updated Oct 20, 2025

Weak password hashing in Tomofun Furbo 360 and Furbo Mini firmware allows physically proximate attackers to recover the root password. The password handler stores the root account's /etc/shadow entry with DES-based hashing, enabling offline brute-force recovery with commodity tools. Filesystem access through UART or firmware extraction is required; affected firmware extends through FB0035_FW_036 and MC0020_FW_074, and recovered credentials bypass local authentication.
