Local privilege escalation via unset custom-path ACLs
Published Oct 23, 2025 · Updated Oct 23, 2025
Incorrect default permissions in MongoDB Atlas SQL ODBC Driver 1.0.0 through 2.0.0 allow local users to escalate privileges. The Windows MSI installer leaves ACLs unset when a custom installation directory is selected, allowing a low-privileged user to replace or modify installed files. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access and a custom installation path; resulting code can run with the privileges of a process that loads the modified driver.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
