CVE-2025-11571Network attack vector

Executable launch via unvalidated JSON URL

Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026

OS command injection in Silicon Labs Simplicity Installer allows remote attackers to launch executables through a crafted JSON URL. A network-facing endpoint accepts a user-controlled URL from JSON and passes the selected executable to an operating-system launch operation without restricting the program; parameters and arguments cannot be supplied. Exploitation requires same-network access and active user interaction, and the bounded impact is starting a local executable without attacker-chosen arguments.
