CVE-2025-11567

Local privilege escalation via insecure install permissions

Published Nov 12, 2025 · Updated Nov 12, 2025

Incorrect default permissions in Schneider Electric PowerChute Serial Shutdown 1.3 and earlier allow local users to gain elevated system access. The installation process does not ensure restrictive permissions on the selected target folder, leaving privileged software content writable to lower-privileged accounts. Exploitation requires low-privileged local access and permissive folder access controls; successful abuse compromises data and can interrupt operations.
