Authenticated code execution via unbounded mac formatting
Published Oct 9, 2025 · Updated Oct 9, 2025
Stack-based buffer overflow in Tenda W12 3.0.0.6(3948) allows remote authenticated users to execute code via a crafted HTTP request. The wifiMacFilterSet handler passes an oversized mac value from the JSON macList array to sprintf without checking its length, overflowing a stack buffer. The CNA assessment requires low privileges; successful exploitation can execute code or crash the access point.
